Exadel @ JavaOne 2008

Exadel is going to exhibit at JavaOne for the 5th straight year. This year we are exhibiting at JBoss booth #734.

Come and talk to us about your enterprise RIA plans and everything else. We are going to be showing lots of cool stuff; JBoss Developer Studio, JBoss RichFaces, Exadel Flamingo and Exadel dVision.

With the new version of Exadel Flamingo, you will be able to build Flex or JavaFX user interfaces backed by either JBoss Seam or Spring.

We also going to be giving out free copies for JBoss Developer Studio, but you will have to watch a demo first :) .

Here is my speaking schedule:

Using JBoss RichFaces with JBoss Developer Studio 5/7 1PM, JBoss Theatre (open to all attendees)

The following two sessions I’m doing together with Burr Sutter from JBoss:

Open Source Development Tools for the Javaâ„¢ Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE Platform), Web 2.0, and SOA, 5/8 4:10PM, Esplanade 302 (open to conference attendees)

Looks like too many people signed up for the first session, so another session was scheduled:

Open Source Development Tools for the Javaâ„¢ Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE Platform), Web 2.0, and SOA, 5/9 4:50PM, Esplanade 301 (open to conference attendees)

Other Exadel talks:

How to Empower Business Users with MetaMatrix and JBoss Developer Studio 5/6 6PM, JBoss Theatre (open to all attendees)
By Dan Tauber

Extending JBoss Seam with Exadel Flamingo 5/6 7PM, JBoss Theatre (open to all attendees)
By Igor Polevoy

Another Exadel Flamingo session will be shown at Adobe theatre booth also by Igor Polevoy.

I’m looking forward to some major announcement from Sun regarding JavaFX. In my post earlier this year, I predicted this would be a big year for JavaFX.

Lots of things happening…

I was doing JSF/RichFaces training in Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI last week. I got to experience a decent snow storm. I was glad to be back in California. Today I’m flying to Orlando, to JBossWorld conference. No snow there.

Very exciting news are coming out of Exadel this week. First, we have released Exadel dVision - rich Internet application that enables access to vital enterprise data from disperate sources.

Another product we just released is Exadel Flamingo. Flamingo allows to build rich user interfaces with Flex on top of JBoss Seam, basically glues Flex and JBoss Seam. People use JSF as the UI technology on top of Seam. Today you can use Flex as easily.

Just quick announcements, I will be blogging more on both products soon.

Exadel Studio Pro reborn in JBoss Developer Studio 1.0

This week RedHat/JBoss released JBoss Developer Studio 1.0 (or JBDS). The product is loaded with features, you can read more here . A big part of the functionality is coming from Exadel Studio Pro, more specifically JSF/RichFaces tools. You can still download an older version of Exadel Studio Pro for Eclipse 3.2.2, but of course I recommend to get JDBS. If you don’t want to pay $99 for JDBS subscription, you can easily download JBoss Tools plug-ins, WTP 2.0.1 (wtp-all-in-one version 2.0.1 comes with Eclipse) and put it all together.

If you’re developing your application using JSF and RichFaces, using all the visual and source tools from JDBS will increase your productivity and you will make less errors during development. I have been using Exadel Studio Pro (and now will JBoss) in all my training classes. Usually after first day people are amazed how this tool simplifies development. Give it try!

Exadel Studio Pro is now FREE!

Exadel Studio Pro version 4.0.4 is now free and available for download from http://www.exadel.com. It has a trial period until May 15th. After that, it will be re branded as Red Hat Developer Studio. If you are confused about this, check out my earlier post about Exadel and Red Hat.
